Art therapy encourages free and spontaneous self-expression through creative techniques such as drawing, painting, collage and sculpting. Art therapy allows us to take an inward journey. We can’t escape the stresses that life inevitably brings. However, if we are able to navigate through our emotional and mental landscape, we gain an increased capacity to cope with stress, challenges, and the busyness of life.

The role of the Transpersonal Art Therapist is to help you navigate your inner world and explore your artwork for personal meaning and insight - the therapist is your guide on a personal journey of self-discovery, healing and self-empowerment. A trained Art Therapist has extensive knowledge about psychological theories, human development, clinical practice, counselling techniques, and the healing potential of art and specific art materials.
We can express our inner landscape through colour, movement, lines, shapes and symbols. We can connect with, and express, all aspects of our being.

Satisfaction and relief come when we are able to express our inner landscape in an artwork. We can then see it clearly, explore it, discover new insights, or find a new perspective.
